About
Liverpool Rangers is a friendly, family club with a strong emphasis on women’s and girls’ football. It sees youngsters grow towards adulthood, with many earlier players still playing and coaching. Some have even gone onto greater things, playing for national league and overseas teams.
The club was founded in 1963 and first took part in Southern Districts competitions in 1964.
Its present home, Ireland Park, Liverpool, houses three full fields and two mini-fields. The park was set up by Liverpool City Council by filling the area with “feathers” from Inghams chook farm and “coffee beans” from Maxwell House — the two companies being original employers of many people from the area.
The club house at Ireland Park was an old school building annex purchased at auction and since extended to provide a small but comfortable canteen and meeting room.
